The CRN is more than just railway lines, level crossings and bridges.
As part of UGL Regional Linx's (UGLRL) operations and services, UGLRL oversee the management of more than 1,200 properties, including 356 heritage-listed sites, and additionally manage approximately 27,000 hectares of land from Operational to Non-operational Rail Corridors.

- Property Register Management: developing, managing, and maintaining an up-to-date register of all properties under our care
- Building and Infrastructure Maintenance: Ensure buildings, surrounding land, and rail depots are well-maintained to meet safety and functionality
- Commercial Agreements and Tenancy Management: Overseeing and administering commercial leases and tenancy agreements with clarity and professionalism
- Lease and Contract Review: Regularly reviewing leases, local maintenance agreements, and supply contracts to ensure compliance and performance
- Property Sales and Acquisitions: Facilitating the sale or acquisition of properties to align with strategic goals
- Heritage and Land Management: Managing property-related heritage aspects and maintaining land in compliance with regulations and conservation requirements.
Lease / Licensing Fees
All Lease and Licence applications incur an application fee as determined by Transport for NSW. Fees vary according to the type of Lease or Licence you are requesting. Annual Lease / Licence fees also apply. Please note that once the application fee has been paid, this is non-refundable.
Insurance Requirements
Lease or Licence requests require Public Liability Insurance to be held at all times by the Lease / Licence holder. The required level of cover for Public Liability Insurance is detailed below:
• $250 million for operational passenger lines
• $50 million for operational freight lines, or
• $20 million for non-operational lines
The insurance certificate must ‘Name’ Transport Asset Manager of New South Wales and UGL Regional Linx Pty Ltd (not ‘Note’ or ‘Interested Party’). ‘Naming’ is also known as ‘Jointly Insured’ or ‘Additionally Insured’.
